About Me

With over a decade of experience at the intersection of investigative reporting and digital forensics, I specialise in building resilient newsgathering systems to combat disinformation and synthetic media. My work centres on developing evidence-based methodologies to verify user-generated content (UGC) in conflict zones and breaking news events, prioritising accuracy, ethics, and transparency in reporting.

Core Focus Areas

  • Building resilience: Developing the technical roadmaps and forensic workflows—leveraging OSINT, visual forensics, and geolocation—that help newsrooms stay ahead of evolving digital threats.
  • Community & training: As the creator of "The Agile Newsroom," a training model recognised by the Council of Europe, I empower journalists with the digital forensics skills needed for modern reporting.
  • Research & collaboration: Co-authored Eyewitness Textures (McGill-Queen’s University Press) and continue to lead cross-border investigative projects.

I believe that the best way to protect the integrity of the news is through shared tools, collective intelligence, and a commitment to evidence-based journalism.

I’m always happy to connect with journalists and researchers dedicated to uncovering the truth and fighting misinformation.
